Welcome to Harrison School

 

A map of the Harrison school locationHarrison School is designed to cater for the families living in the suburbs of Harrison, Franklin and part of Gungahlin. It is located on Nullarbor Avenue, Harrison adjacent to neighbourhood and district playing fields.

Initially the school will cater for preschool and primary school students and will commence operation in 2008. It will be able to accommodate 100 preschool and 450 primary students, including 30 children with special needs.

The high school is expected to open on the same site in 2012.

 

 

A photograph of a students learning at Harrison SchoolThe school has four special needs classrooms for students with a disability, which are completely integrated with the mainstream student classrooms, and one high support needs unit integrated within the school complex.

 

 

A photograph of Harrison School Environmentally sustainable design features will be incorporated in the school. Specifically, water sensitive urban design principles will be applied with rainwater to be collected on-site in large underground rainwater tanks and extensive use will be made of rainwater run-off in hard paved areas to irrigate garden areas.

School colours are royal blue, navy and red.
